Arch
Creek Animal Clinic's Dr. Albert F. Williams, III was born
and raised in the rural, north Florida town of Lake City. Having the
advantage of growing up on a farm, he was exposed early in life to
the importance/value of companion animals and the human-animal bond,
as well as the economic importance of healthy farm animals. At the
age of three, during his first visit to an animal hospital with his
puppy, Skeeter, he announced to his mother--"Wow! Dogs have doctors
too! I want to be a veterinarian when I grow up". His childhood love
and devotion to an array of adopted, rescued, and "farm-bred"
pets---Skeeter (the German Shepherd), Rosalyn (the Yorkshire pig),
Misty (the domestic short-hair cat), Roscoe (the Braford bull),
Red
River (the Quarter horse)---continued to fuel his dream. The dream
became reality at the University of Florida where he earned a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture in 1988 and a Doctorate of
Veterinary Medicine in 1992.
Following graduation, Dr. Williams accepted a position with the
prestigious Knowles Animal Clinics in Miami, developing particular
interest in preventive medicine; internal medicine; orthopedic and
soft tissue surgery. After 11 years in practice, he purchased the
Arch Creek location in September 2003.
